John Heath Travel is a full service travel agency based in Indianapolis Indiana. It all started with my first cruise in 2004 from Galveston Texas. After that I was always talking to people about how much I enjoyed cruises.  Several friends could see the passion I had and encouraged me to start my own travel agency.  I started with just a few posts on my Facebook page and a booth at the Indianapolis Pride Festival.  I started by booking a few friends on RSVP, Atlantis and another LGBT Group Cruise.  After a year in business a couple friends encouraged me to start my own LGBT Group Cruise, so in 2015 we had the first Post Thanksgiving Cruise with 95 guests. In 2019 we had our fifth annual with almost 300 guests. 

As the group cruise continued to grow I was at a crossroads.  While I have a few great helpers while onboard the cruise, off the cruise it's 100% me, as I don't have any employees.  I also have a full time job, which I enjoy greatly, but the travel business had grown into more than a full time job itself.  When I boarded the 2019 Post Thanksgiving Cruise there were no plans for a  2020 cruise.  I had decided to take a break and I didn't know if there would be another in the future.  After a couple days on the cruise I heard so much great feedback and everyone was asking where the next cruise was going.  When I explained there were no plans for another, there was disappointment.  Many clients even offered to help however they could to keep it going.  After a couple days of great feedback and encouragement, I decided to book the 2020 cruise.  By the end of the 2019 cruise over 50% of the guests had already re-booked for the 2020 cruise.  Within the next month we had already surpassed the 2019 cruise bookings.  I'm so thankful for my clients, for the referrals they make, their compliments and their loyalty.  I couldn't have done this without each of them. 

I often get asked what is the reason for my success.  I believe it's because I take pride in finding the right vacation for each person and providing excellent customer service throughout the process. We all have different wants and needs and there are so many cruise lines that offer different experiences. I've been on over 40 cruises, in many parts of the world, on seven different cruise lines, so I have the experience to help everyone find what they are looking for.
